Resource
Economics, LLC is pleased to announce the availability of individual
State Reports derived from our Timber Supply and Product Demand
Service.
Our Spring,
2001, catalog of services describes our Timber Supply and Demand
Service (now in it's second year of production), our new State level
wood products production and timber supply situation, GIS mapping
products, and our general areas of consulting.
As part of our
continuing effort to service the wood products industry in the US,
we now offer our individual State projections of production and
timber supply that are key to our National projection. The following
states will be available for individual projection reports:
West:
- Western
Oregon

Oregon

In our last
two Long Term Outlooks we have correctly projected the following:
- The slowing
of the economy in the year 2000 and the accompanying reduction
in solid wood product and stumpage prices.
- Our solid
wood consumption and production projections for 1999 and 2000
have been within 1 percent of actual levels.
- For the year
2000, we projected that solid wood product prices would decline.
- Western and
southern composite log prices would decline in 2000 from 1999
levels.
- Our return-to-log
equilibrium calculations have been slightly higher than actual
year-to-date.
